lead singer - Mal & the Longboarders
mad surfer, singer, song writer, showman
started
surfing
at 47 years
of age (and totally addicted to it)
favorite surf break
Watties Byron Bay
(Watego's)
best band story with m & the
lb's
the first time we
played at Noosa Festival of Surfing in 1999. apart from
meeting surfing legends and playing great gigs, we all
arrived late, got the gear stashed and then went for a
surf in 'coffee coloured 2' slop' at the groin but spent
1 hour having a far-out time just feeling the stoke.
favorite board/shaper
I'm riding two different
Billy Tolhurst models at the moment, 'DT' and 'AT' models
(and loving it!!)
best thing about Second Wind mal
club
is the layed-back
feel, no pressure and lots of fun with the rest of the
watermen and their families.
fave music
anything (except
rap, pop, disco, protest songs, country & western,
thrash, trash, techno)
local surfer who you think is hot
I like any surfer
who goes out with the right attitude and follows the rules
of the surf.
favorite all-time surfer
The Duke (who else?)
why M&the LB's are cool to hang
out with
because of the energy,
fun and the buzz of the whole band.
best surf safari
down at Yamba with
the band and the club (1999) where we spent the weekend
surfing Spookys' at about 2mts.
perfect wave story
nearly every time
I go to Watego's!!! |
